New Cardio + Scheduled Weight Room Upgrades

**Update for 10/31/24:

The dates for our weight room renovation have been confirmed. The weight room will be closed November 11-13. The rest of the facility will remain open; cardio, pools, classes, and amenities will operate as normal. Thanks for your understanding as we work to improve HQ!

New cardio equipment is here! Today (Thursday 7/17) we brought in 14 new pieces of cardio equipment including Matrix Climbmills, Upright Bikes, Recumbent Bikes, and Treadmills. We have existing models of the Climbmills and Bikes, so those will be a familiar addition. The Matrix Treadmills on the other hand, replaced many of the Precor models. The Matrix Tread is an amazing piece of machinery with a .5-16mph speed range, a 0-20% incline range, and a 62”x24” running surface. It is quiet, stable, and powerful! Enjoy!

Before the end of 2024, we will be introducing some significant changes to our weight room floor. Not only are we replacing a large amount of our equipment, but we are also reorganizing things to help us better accommodate our members’ workout needs. While these changes are not expected until late fall, we want you to know that the new cardio equipment is not all that we have in store. At HealthQuest, we have always been proud of our ability to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for all our members. These changes will help us to continue to meet these standards. The main goals are as follows:

1)   More floor space - mobility training, circuit training, plyometrics, bodyweight training, and more all require open space. However, in a facility like ours, space is a commodity – it is hard to create open space without sacrificing machines that are equally as important. By reorganizing the equipment, we can optimize walkways, minimize wasted space, and bring in new equipment without losing valuable floor space.

2)   More dumbbell/bench options – our primary dumbbell area is well suited for many, but for those trying to find a bench and a set of dumbbells to complete a circuit workout, it can be hard to feel comfortable without imposing on others. No one is comfortable when one person is dumbbell benching with 80lb dumbbells 2’ away from someone doing thrusters and mountain climbers. Creating spaces for both of these lifters is important.

3)   Organization – it is impossible to have a gym without a host of equipment accessories. The new Torque rig will help us significantly in our efforts to keep our weight room floor organized. In addition to its storage options, it will also house several weight room essentials like landmine anchors, pullup bars, and band attachments.

4)   Upgrade City – new stuff is awesome. The new equipment from Atlantis, Matrix, and Torque boasts top of the line features, kinesthetic optimization, and modern comforts that were not available when we last purchased new machinery. Technogym and Hammer Strength served us beautifully for a long time, but the new equipment is a notable improvement in almost every way.

a.    Matrix is the fastest growing brand in fitness. They have been an industry leader for a long time, but they continue to show an ability to improve. Their selectorized equipment is second to none.

b.   Atlantis is one of the most recognized names in strength training. Their plate loaded equipment boasts a number of comforts and adjustments that make each machine a delight to use (depending on your definition of delight).

c.    The Torque X-Create Functional Tower allows us to consolidate a lot of weight room necessities into one (large) space. The tower will include pullup bars, suspension trainers, wall ball pads, landmines, storage, and band attachments all in one place.

We are proud to have been a leader of fitness in the Napa Valley for more than 34 years, and plan to continue to do so. Thank you for your patronage and your patience as we continue to evolve. We hope these changes serve you well! Create a great day!
